Rage Against the Dying of the Blog...
The Spoon of Justice demands an update. I can only bow to its wishes. :)
First, apologies to those that were saddened by no updates. I will do my best to be better in the future. After all, we've gone far too long without the Bizarre Moment of the Day, and some of the other fine features around here. And this blog will not go gently into that good night. :)
First, the big stuff. I didn't get the second job at the library. And it's just as well, cause I probably would have killed myself doing that much work. The money would have been nice, but it's hard to spend it when you're dead.
I also had my hearing for my (long overdue) admittance into the CMA. Depressingly enough, I didn't make the cut. What does that mean exactly? I have no freakin' clue. At this point, I plan on bargaining with the Devil enough to make it through the semester. After all, I've paid, and I've already taken over a month of classes, and it's pretty much too late to get my money back. Needless to say, I'm not exactly feeling all Suzy Sunshine about it. But I have a meeting with the Coordinator-of-the-Week on Monday, and hopefully we'll have some news by then. I'm really hoping my life doesn't turn upside down... don't know how I'd handle it.
But! On to happier topics! School is going well (other than the aforementioned obvious), and I'm loving the work situations (except how I almost got screwed out of my days off this weekend, but it's all fixed now, so I'm happy...). SAI is great, we just had our Rose Tea tonight, where we added 11 new members-in-training. And I discovered that I'm a great-grand-big... this makes me feel very old. The sisters have taken to calling me the matriarch. By November, both of my littles will already be married. Time flies by so fast... they grow up so quick.... *sniff*
Ahem. Anyway. :)
So let's see.... band concert tomorrow night, should be a good time, come out and have some fun. Lou Marini Jr., of Blues Brothers fame, will be doing a set with us. Saturday is of course BG's Homecoming, as well as friends Mike and Sarah's wedding. It's also my nephew Sean's second birthday. I wish I could go to see him, but there's just too many things on one Saturday. And Sunday... yes folks, another complete day off. I haven't had a Sunday off since June, and it's going to be very nice. Pretty sure I'm gonna sleep in, folks.
OK, it's bedtime for this chicky. But first! The "Of the Day!"
Bizarre Moment:
Random conversation in the elevator at work with some lady about her flutist son, cause I was carrying my instrument...
The strange dashed line that's all over the campus for tomorrow's Homecoming Snake Dance...
Quote of the Day:
"It's like the Spoon of Justice." - Katie
"In P'eye's We Trust." - Nancy
"Female Steelers fans tend to spread their "womanhood" around..." - Al
"To sacrifice a goat, press 1, or say 'goats'... To sacrifice a loved one or family member, press the pound sign..." - The Ritual Sacrifice line at Wolfram & Hart
Fun Thing of the Day:
Rose Tea... it's always an honor to share with my sisters. S... A... I... love it, live it. :)
Finally getting some singing action from the PMA boys... jeez guys, is there a shortage or something?
Helping to plan my friend Lisa's baby shower... geez, babies already! I'm still working on not killing my houseplants... ;)
Song of the Day:
Double Time Chorale
3 Doors Down - Here Without You... this song breaks me inside every time I hear it... Brad Arnold should make my babies...
Perfect Circle - Weak and Powerless...
He promised that I’d find a little solace and some peace of mind
Whatever just as long as I don't feel so
Desperate and ravenous
I'm so weak and powerless over you
Love you all, folks. There will be more blogging, I promise. :)
